Pet Day is when we celebrate Wairakei Primary School’s semi-rural nature and students exhibit their achievements in animal rearing, floral displays and homemade baking.
This booklet will give you all of the information you need in the lead up to this important day on the school calendar.
Help on the Day
We need people to help with the setup, running of the stalls and clean up. There are spot prizes for volunteers. Put your name down to be in with a chance to win! The more volunteers, the shorter the time slots. We appreciate all the support that makes this event a fun day for all. Please fill in the form on the website to indicate where you can help.

Plan your arrangement
- Find as many flowers as possible and practise arrangements at home.
- Arrangements are made at school. All items required for exhibits will need to be brought to school on the day.
- It is the student’s responsibility to do the arranging. Parents are invited to school to assist with these arrangements in their child’s classroom. All exhibits must be made by students, not parents.
- If you have extra flowers, greenery etc, please send them along to school so they can be shared with others.
- Each student may enter a pressed flower bookmark (if they have pressed the flowers prior).
